Japanese Lifetime Employment System is said to have collapsed, because even Toyota expressed that it needs to keep their workers employed over their retirement age. 
Also, it isn’t surprising that employees in their 40’s and 50’s can be laid off suddenly.
Public employees are encouraged early retirement as well to reduce personnel expenses.
Based on these current situations, you need to have some specific skills and experiences to stand out from others.
It’s difficult to develop some skills while working, so I need to do something new after work to secure my future.
I’ll try to do anything extra and if I find a reasonable one, I’ll continue to do it.
