Another Option

I had a job interview last Friday and I received the result yesterday.
Unfortunately, I didn’t pass it, so I need to apply for other job openings.
The school year ends on March 31 and by then my current employment contract ends as well.
To work abroad is a dream because I would be in a more challenging environment.
Living in Japan is safe and comfortable in terms of health insurance, climate, and transportation.
However, I don’t get excited at all as long as I live among Japanese people.
I talked with my parents about my plan, but they declined my ambition because of safety and salary.
I will look for other options which can convince them.

The End of Winter

It is getting warmer these days.
Although we can use air conditioners at school, we currently don’t use it because of warm temperature.
Daytime is also getting longer.
On January 1st, I went to see the sunrise to welcome the New Year and I saw the sun at 7:20 a.m.
The sun, however, rises before 7 a.m. recently.
The school year in Japan starts in April and ends in March, so I like this season due to the changing point of our lifestyle.
I still haven’t gotten a job for the next school year, so I hope to get one by the end of this school year.

Lethargic

After the interview last Friday, I don't have any more motivation for studying.
Our school is in the middle of school year final exam, so we don't have any classes.
I cannot say I did well in the interview, but I'm hoping to receive a good result.
I am not sure when the result will be sent.
This school year will end in a month.
I will focus on my current job and finish it without any failures.
Although I don't feel like studying, I have a strong will of losing my weight.
I hope I can show off my body on the beach this summer.

The Last Week of February

This week is the last week of February.

I am waiting for the result of interview from the technical junior college.

If I pass it, I will work for the school.

If not, I will move to somewhere.

This city is not attracting anymore for me.

But to relocate myself, I need to find a new job.

After receiving the result, I will look for some jobs more seriously, if I fail it.

Besides English, I need to enhance some skill to make my value up for society.

I still don’t know what to do now.

I don’t have any motivation to start something new.

I hope to come across an event which my mind awake.

Art Museum

I visited two museums in this city today.
Recently, to appreciate arts is my favorite thing to do, because they give me some unusual impressions.
For example, there were oil paintings in one of the museums.
The painter wrote scenery in the forest in Paris.
The scenery is not that special but the painting gave me huge impression because of his detailed art work.
I learned that any places or things around us can be motifs of art.
One of the museums was built by a president of a newspaper company.
His contribution helps us to enjoy arts easily.
I would like to be a person who can contribute to our society.

Interview at College

I had a job interview yesterday.
After leaving school earlier than I usually do, I went back home and then went to the technical junior college.
There were three processes; the first one was an interview with the professors, the second one was a mock lesson, the last one was an interview with the school principal.
Each process was about thirty minutes and it was one and a half hours in total.
I was nervous at first but gradually I got used to the screening steps.
Honestly, I didn't get a good impression from the principal, but I did what I could do.
It would take a few weeks until I get the result.
In case I don't pass it, I will look for other options.

Job Interview in the Evening

I have an interview this evening.
Although I will go to work as usual, I will leave earlier after eating lunch.
It takes more than 30 minutes from my apartment to the venue, so I will leave for the school at 4 p.m.
I will definitely get nervous during the interview, but I will conduct a mock lesson just as I planned.
The interview is supposed to be for an hour and a half to two hours.
The questions which will be asked in the interview have not been shown, so I will review my resume and documents which I sent to the school where I applied.

Materials for the Lesson

I have two more days to prepare for the interview which is going to be held this Friday.
In the interview, I have to do a mock lesson for twenty minutes.
To show how the target grammar is used in real life, I looked for useful books for the lesson.
There was a book that introduced a lot of famous English songs. 
A song which was sung by Eric Clapton had lyrics I wanted to find.
I believe using such a material can motivate people to study English more.
I will have a fun thing to do this Saturday, so I will prepare for the interview until I get convinced.

Preparation for Interview

I still have two more days to prepare for the job interview this Friday.
Yesterday, I spent four hours to prepare for it after work.
The gym which I am a member of is the best place for preparation.
It has free Wi-Fi and a relaxation room which allows the members to use freely.
I was in the room from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
I made Power Point slides, so I will ask some people to check and give me feedback today.
The mock lesson is only for 20 minutes, but I will focus on it to pass the interview.

Interview on Friday

I am going to the city center to hang out this Saturday and I am really looking forward to it.
However, I need to take a job interview this Friday at a technical junior college.
In order to enjoy the weekend from the bottom of my heart, I will prepare enough to accomplish it without any regression.
If I pass the interview and get the English teaching job, I will be able to think about my future more clearly.
First, I can think about marriage more seriously because the salary would be better than the current one.
Second, I can focus on studying English without worrying about my job.
As long as I have free time, I will use the time for preparation.

Preparation in the Gym

Yesterday, I shut myself off in a gym.
I need to prepare for the coming  interview and a mock lesson as well.
The gym has a relaxation room which allow members to read newspapers, magazines, and books and use the Internet and massage chairs.
I don’t study in my apartment at all.
Honestly, it became my second living room already.
I could even take a shower if I feel tired.
There is also a bath tub to soak in.
If I get hungry, I could eat in a nearby udon restaurant.
And mind you it's delicious and affordable, too.
I still need to make more detailed plans about the mock lesson as part of the interview.
I hope I will pass the interview and get a new job starting this school year.

Child Allowance

I had a sore throat yesterday and went to an otolaryngologist.
The female doctor politely asked my symptoms and issued a prescription.
When I was at the clinic, I realized that parents who took their kids to the clinic didn’t pay anything when they left.
I checked a website of our city government and it said medical fees under 15 years old who live in this city are free.
The policy is very reasonable because parents don’t need to worry about the expenses for their kids’ health.
Not all cities in Japan implement this policy.
In the future, I want to live in such a city if I have a partner and kids.

Preparation for the Interview

A busy week just ended yesterday.
What I need to do now is to prepare for an interview at a technical college.
If I pass the interview which includes a mock lesson, I will be working for the school as an English teacher.
The interview will be held on February 22nd.
Although the job is probably busier than the current one, the salary must me much better.
If I can make enough money , I will think about getting married more seriously.
This weekend is the most important days to prepare for the interview.
The officer has already given me a topic about the mock lesson, so I will study the part more, and make a lesson plan.

Lecture About Smartphone

More and more junior and high school students are getting involved with crimes related to smartphones.

There are a lot of offenders in the social network sites disguised as good people but with an ulterior motive.

They will try to befriend you but only to get your trust and they will start to phish your account.

Then they will send messages to all your friends, relatives and colleagues asking for money or some favors.

After the lecture, I realized that I should be more careful in uploading and sharing some personal information in the social network site.

I hope all the young people out there will be more careful and be more responsible in using their smartphones.

Reggae

I have never heard the word reggae before, but I heard it by chance when I was watching an American sitcom.
The song that was sung by 
one of the characters was very catchy.
I don’t know the title of the song, but I checked what reggae is on YouTube.
The slow and lively songs caught my attention and the tunes fitted my mood.
I want to find a good reggae song for myself.
Since the songs of the genre are slow tempo, it may be easier to sing.
Recently, I mainly hear Ghibli orchestra songs, but listening to more reggae songs was added on my playlist.

Capsule Hotel

The popularity of “Capsule hotels” is soaring among Japanese and foreigners.
Unlike usual inns and luxury hotels, each capsule provides just enough space for one person to lie down.
The capsules are installed side by side, but you can have privacy by closing the door.
The fee to stay there is affordable and capsule hotel is part of our culture.
Many companies have started this business because the rooms can be installed inside the buildings.
I have stayed at a capsule hotel before.
There are shortcomings, however.
I could hear the neighbor's loud snore and I couldn't take a rest very well because of the limited space which do not allow me to stretch my body.
Anyway, staying in such a hotel will be a good experience for others to try.

Local Newspaper

I noticed that reading the local newspaper is very useful to get information about this prefecture.
I used to read only an English national newspaper, but I recently read both of them.
There was an article promoting a concert which will be held on February 14th.
I am planning to attend the concert to watch performances by European musicians.
I also noticed that there are many interesting events in this prefecture, like dancing, singing and cooking.
If I want to join any of these events after work, I can focus on finishing my tasks quickly.
I want to go to these events this year and get information through the local newspaper.

Job Interview

I am going to have another job interview in two weeks.
The job is teaching English at a technical junior college.
Fortunately, I passed the first screening process and the interview will be held at the school.
The school is located in a rural area in this prefecture, but we can enjoy beautiful mountain scenery and the beach.
The interview will include a mock lesson.
According to the outline of the interview, I need to make a plan for a forty-five-minute lesson and do a twenty-minute lesson.
The topic of the designated part is about subjunctive mood.
I will make a lesson plan which will be useful for the students.

TOEIC

I took the TOEIC yesterday.
It was my first time to take it in 2019.
My previous score was 945 out of 990.
This time, I didn't have to pay the exam fee because the Board of Education of this prefecture paid instead of us.
English teachers in our prefecture were eligible to take it.
There were 80 participants in the testing room.
We work for an elementary school, junior high school, or high school.
I wish I can get a better score than the previous one.
I need to study English grammar more and to know more English expressions to become a skillful teacher.

Interview at College

I am going to take a job interview in two weeks.
The job is teaching English at a technical junior college.
According to the e-mail from the officer, the interview will be about from 90 minutes to 120 minutes.
The interview includes a demonstration lesson and a regular interview.
I have gotten a photocopy of the textbook which is designated to use for the demonstration.
The junior college is in the prefecture where I currently live in, so I want to get this opportunity.
I still have two more weeks, starting from today till Monday, we have public holidays, so I will prepare for the interview.

One Month Has Passed

One month has passed since the third term began in our school.
I don’t know why but I can’t wait for Fridays.
In the first and second term, I didn’t have such a feeling, but recently, I expect time to pass quickly.
The closing ceremony of this school year will be held on March 15th so we still have one more month to go.
I need to get a full time job as soon as possible starting April.
I don't like to stick to any teaching jobs anymore.
My parents were not convinced at my idea to work abroad because of job security and salary.
I will use the three holidays in a row starting tomorrow to search for possible jobs.

Learning English

There is an assistant English teacher from America in our school.

I like to talk with him very much.

Yesterday, we didn’t have a class at the same period, so we chatted for 50 minutes.

After talking with him in English, I felt a little uncomfortable to switch to speaking Japanese.

I thought that if we continue to speak English with native speakers for that long every day, we will definitely be fluent in English.

From this point of view, studying abroad is a good way of studying foreign languages.

However, today, we can talk with foreigners via Skype.

I want to tell people that we can improve our English skills living in Japan.

School Lunch

The students at school look forward to eating school lunch every day.
We eat it after 4th period.
It starts at 12:35 and ends at 12:55.
Nutritionists think about the menus caring about the ingredients and nutrition.
The time to eat school lunch is the most relaxing moment for me.
Yesterday, we had milk bread, fried salmon, soup, salad, milk.
We really appreciate the cooks who make it every day from early morning.
When I was a junior high school student, the school didn’t have school lunch.
I wonder what we can eat after studying.
The lunch can give us energy to study in the afternoon.

Playing Tennis

I practiced playing tennis last night.
I was not able to play tennis for the past two months due to my lower back pain.
The pain is almost healed, so I started playing again.
Hitting the balls at the best spot of my racket was difficult at first.
Although the temperature was low, I sweated a lot in the middle of rallies.
I was satisfied that I almost didn’t feel the pain.
I know that it will take some time for me to play it as well as I used to do.
The winter season will last only for two months at most.
As it gets warmer, I will practice it more seriously.

Fukuoka

I went to Fukuoka Prefecture to have a job interview yesterday.
It took two and a half hours for one way by train.
The interview was only for ten minutes.
I was asked some questions such as why I applied for the position and what I want to do if I am selected.
After the questions, I did a demonstration with a picture book.
I was not able to get a good impression after the interview because the interviewers didn’t have gleam in their eyes.
The ramen for lunch comforted me from the failure.
The result will be sent via mail by February 18th.
I will go back on my regular working days again this week.

Reading Comic Books at a Café

I went to Starbucks last night to read a comic book titled “Nodame Cantabile” and I read it until the last 24th volume.
I like to read books at a café on my days off because I can relax and see many people.
There are many customers in the café.
I heard two young women who talked about their future, another girl who studied for an exam and a foreign guy who drew sketches on his sketch book.
Café is a place which reminds me that we live our own lives.
Each person has their own use of time on Saturday night.
I want to go there again with some books and see people .

Hang Out

I hanged out with my friend after work last night.
He and I went to a party which was held at the center of the city.
There were three male and female groups each and we had time to talk with all three female groups.
In the restaurant, there were many small divided rooms, and we used three of them.
After talking with one group for about thirty minutes, the male groups moved to another room.
There was an organizer to moderate the party.
I got some contacts and probably I am going to meet one of them someday.
I hope that I can make a good relationship with her.

Population in America

America is a huge country unlike Japan.
Each area has its own unique characteristic in racial composition.
The ratio of Asians is higher in Southern California.
South Eastern areas have larger number of Blacks.
The northern part of the country is occupied mainly by Caucasians.
I would like to travel around the country to see the differences of the areas.
Japan is consisted mainly by one race.
America has a wide variety of people who have different histories.
We Japanese can guess what others are thinking because we have a common background.
But in America, it is difficult because they have different backgrounds.
I want to go to the country for my next long vacation.
